Voice typing that gets Indian English.
Most speech engines flatten Indian English: prepone becomes “skip on”, yaar becomes “yeah”. Hukum connects to Sarvam's Saaras v3, a model built for Indian English, Hindi-English and Indian languages, which kept every word of our test recording as it was said. Saaras runs in Sarvam's cloud with your own key; Hukum's offline models are a separate choice for when privacy matters more.

Get a Sarvam key
Create an account and an API key on Sarvam's dashboard. New accounts start with free credits.
Paste it into Hukum
Choose the Saaras preset in Hukum's cloud settings and paste your key. It is stored in Hukum's local settings file, on your computer.
Hold the shortcut and speak
Talk the way you talk. Hindi words and Indian-English phrasing stay in the sentence.
Two separate choices
Saaras is a cloud model: your audio goes to Sarvam, with your key. Offline models keep audio on your computer but were not part of this test. Choose per task, and switch any time. Where your voice goes.

Which voice typing app works well with an Indian accent?
Hukum with Sarvam's Saaras v3. In our side-by-side test on one Indian-English recording, Saaras kept every word, including “yaar”, “prepone”, “revert back” and “bas”, while Deepgram Nova-3 and Whisper on Groq changed them into other words.
Is there a Hinglish voice typing app for laptop?
Yes. Hukum runs on Windows, Mac and Linux laptops and types Hindi-English mixed speech with Sarvam's Saaras v3, keeping the Hindi words in the sentence instead of translating or dropping them.
Does Indian-English voice typing work offline?
Not with Saaras: it runs in Sarvam's cloud with your own Sarvam key. Hukum's offline models are a separate, private choice, and our Indian-English test so far covers cloud engines only.
What does Saaras cost?
Sarvam bills you directly: ₹30 per hour; new accounts start with free credits, on its public price list. Hukum adds nothing on top.
What is the best speech-to-text model for Indian English?
In our test, Sarvam's Saaras v3 was the only one of three engines that kept Indian-English phrasing and Hindi words exactly as spoken. It also covers Hindi-English and Indian languages.
